We all know that throwback trends are in and 90’s is a big theme now but what about before then, many fashion icons are trying to bring back the 70’s will they succeed?
One student ,Jamia Morales a junior at Crete Monee High School agrees with bringing it back and says she would wear because it would make her stand out and be different from everyone else also because she likes it.
Jamia believes that most of the outfits pulled together today have a throwback style and the trends back in the day still have a mark on today's society and we all can relate to that culture.
The outfit she would wear if she had to choose would be big hair, thick sunglasses,fur jacket, bell bottoms with skinny 6-inch pair heels.
Jamia says even though she likes the trend she wouldn't show it off now because she likes her style and so does everyone else.But she does see the trend being practiced by many people on social media such as Instagram, and Snapchat . Also on the shows like “That 70’s show”, “Good Times”, “Sanford & Son” and “What’s Happening”.
Jamia thinks that the thrift store would have 70’s themed stuff since most things in there are old,but she doesn't know when she will follow the trend ,she just says “when she feels like she will like the trend that is when she will follow it.
Jamaya Seymore who is a student at Crete doesn't plan on following the trend now .She does not like the trend and believes that it would look cute on others,but it is just not for her. And says she has seen it at Crete Monee High School.
One thing she remembers from the 70’s theme and what she used to wear when she was younger was bell bottoms ,which are now called boot cut jeans.
She says “ I’ve seen the trends in forever 21, PINK, Discovery, and RUE21.”
And lastly Ms.Graney a Teacher from Crete Monee High School likes the trend and used to wear it back then also now she would.
Ms.Graney was mostly seen in denim jeans when she was younger and her classic outfit was jeans a T-shirt and a jean jacket.Graney likes the idea of them bring denim back,but doesn’t like neon.
Graney believes she is not trendy ;she was just a regular girl who wore regular outfits and she wasn't so flashy and sees herself following this trend in a few years when the trend isn't just new she said “it has to be around for a while”.
